Parshah Vayakhel

Gathering around the work

After the calf, the people gather again, this time around the sanctuary. Community rebuilds around shared work.

The word vayakhel means 'and he gathered.' The last time the people gathered, it was around Aharon and the calf. Now they gather around Moshe and the Mishkan.

A community defines itself by what it assembles around. The parshah suggests that healing from communal failure comes through communal, purposeful work.

This week, invite people to gather not around opinions but around a task, a meal, a chesed, a project. See how the room changes.
