Parshah Metzora

The path back

Metzora is a parshah of return. Torah is more interested in how we come back than in how we fell.

The purification of the metzora is elaborate, birds, cedar, hyssop, waters, days of waiting. Return is honored with ritual because return matters more than the fall.

We often assume that a failure defines us. Torah insists the opposite: it is the choreography of return that defines us.

This week, take one deliberate step of return in an area where you have drifted. Do it slowly, ritually, with attention.
